Murree (Lord Media): The district administration has launched an operation on Mall Road as part of the Murree Development Plan, clearing shops and hotels on the hillside. According to the Assistant Commissioner of Murree, affected traders have been instructed to vacate their premises and remove all belongings by tomorrow. The operation on Mall Road is expected to be completed in the next fifteen days.
Officials stated that 20 kanals of land have been acquired under the orders of the Punjab government to ensure the implementation of the Murree Development Plan.
Affected traders have expressed serious concerns over the operation, stating that no compensation has been provided by the government so far. Several traders were seen tearful while vacating their shops on Mall Road.
The affected individuals claim that the government’s action has impacted their livelihoods, and they demand appropriate compensation to relocate their businesses elsewhere.
