US-Iran talks in Switzerland show progress

Bürgenstock (Lord Media): Talks between the United States and Iran in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock have shown positive progress, according to a joint statement by Pakistan and Qatar. The negotiations, held under a memorandum of understanding, have been successfully concluded.

The summit, named the ‘Lake Lucerne Summit,’ aimed to reduce regional tensions and included leaders from the US, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar. A high-level committee will be established by Pakistan and Qatar to implement the memorandum, focusing on Iran’s nuclear program and economic sanctions.

A roadmap for a peace agreement was approved, set to be completed within 60 days, with technical discussions to begin immediately.

For maritime safety, a communication line will be set up to protect ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

An agreement was reached to form a peace committee to halt the conflict in Lebanon, overseen by Pakistan and Qatar.

Iran’s Foreign Minister praised the talks, announcing the unfreezing of Iranian assets and permission to sell oil.

Pakistan and Qatar expressed gratitude to the US and Iran and pledged continued efforts to ensure the peace process’s success.
