Pentagon seeks 80 bn USD for Iran war costs

Washington (Lord Media): The U.S. Department of Defense has informed Congress that an additional 80 billion U.S. dollars is needed to cover the costs and financial necessities of the Iran war. Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg contacted lawmakers, stating the need for extra funds for military operations, troop deployments, and the procurement of weapons and ammunition.

Sources indicate a significant depletion in Pentagon’s stock of advanced weapons and missile systems, necessitating substantial funding for replenishment. U.S. officials have emphasized the urgent restoration of weapon reserves to maintain military readiness and defense capabilities.

Reports suggest that U.S. military expenses have surged since the onset of the Iran war. In April, the Pentagon initially estimated the war costs at 25 billion U.S. dollars, but this figure has since increased.

Congress is witnessing disagreements over the issue. Some members demand clarification on the war’s objectives, strategy, and legal justification before approving such a large sum, while others support military funding in the interest of national security.
