Pakistan hockey team honored in Belgium

Belgium (Lord Media): A reception was held by the Pakistan Embassy in Belgium to honor the Pakistan hockey team. The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community, personalities from various fields, diplomatic officials, and national team players.

Pakistani Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi warmly welcomed the national hockey team players and officials. He stated that the national sport of hockey has played a significant role in giving Pakistan recognition worldwide, and expressed hope that the Pakistani team will soon regain its lost status.

The event also saw the special participation of Chaudhry Pervaiz Ali Sindhila, member of the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, and Coordinator Tahir Ali Shah.

Pakistan hockey team’s chief coach Manzoor-ul-Hassan thanked the Pakistan Embassy and the Ambassador, noting the love, sincerity, and professional hospitality extended by the Pakistani diplomatic staff in Belgium.

Team captain Imad Butt appreciated the embassy officials’ enthusiasm and expressed his determination to perform better in upcoming matches. It is noteworthy that the Pakistani team faced defeats against Belgium and Spain in the Pro Hockey League. Rematches are scheduled against Belgium on June 19 and against Spain on June 20.
