Islamabad (Lord Media): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the federal government will cover all expenses for a 100-megawatt solar power project in Gilgit-Baltistan. The project’s progress was reviewed in a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister stated that the federal government will bear the project’s costs and instructed officials to expedite the work for its timely completion. He also directed for impartial third-party validation to ensure transparency.
The meeting was informed that an 18-megawatt solar energy project for government buildings in Gilgit-Baltistan is included, expected to be completed by December. Meanwhile, the solarization of the Baltistan division is anticipated to finish by October.
Additionally, it was reported that work is rapidly progressing on an 82-megawatt solar project for homes in Gilgit, Skardu, Chilas, and Khaplu. Federal ministers and senior government officials attended the meeting.
