Karachi (Lord Media): The Karachi port has reached the milestone of welcoming 2,000 ships after eight years. According to the Karachi Port Trust, 2,003 ships docked during the fiscal year, marking a 7.5% increase compared to the previous year.
The statement further revealed that the total tonnage of ships reached 84.4 million tons, with a 3% rise in gross registered tonnage. The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs stated that the increase in maritime trade is a positive sign for the national economy.
Karachi Port Trust Chairman Shahid Ahad emphasized that Karachi port is a crucial maritime trade gateway for the country.
