Lavish lifestyle prompts FBR audit warning

Karachi (Lord Media): Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Mehmood Langrial, has announced that traders displaying a lavish lifestyle contrary to their declared income will face audits. Speaking on Geo News’ program ‘Naya Pakistan’ with host Shahzad Iqbal, he clarified that paying just 25,000 rupees does not exempt one from tax obligations.

Langrial emphasized that traders with high sales must pay taxes according to the prescribed rates. He pointed out that 7 million individuals are not paying the correct amount of tax. Additionally, he mentioned that the imposition of a super tax on the corporate sector was not an ideal measure but was necessitated by specific economic and financial constraints.
