Minister reveals 20 bn USD corruption scandal

Karachi (Lord Media): Sindh’s Minister for Labour, Saeed Ghani, has revealed a corruption scandal exceeding 20 billion U.S. dollars within his department, stating that he will not succumb to pressure and intends to hold those responsible accountable.

Speaking at the All Pakistan Women Workers Conference at the Karachi Arts Council, Ghani highlighted that the government has recognized home-based workers, sharing his own experience of being dismissed from an institution.

He further recounted that his grandmother ran a shop and provided education for his father and family, expressing joy at women working alongside men today.

Ghani mentioned an offer of a monthly 50 million U.S. dollars bribe in 2016 when he was an advisor on labour, asserting that he cannot reinstate thieves and that his leadership is serious about workers’ rights.

He also stated that women are being granted ownership rights in the 2 million homes construction project, and efforts are ongoing to resolve issues related to social security cards for home-based workers.
