Islamabad (Lord Media): The upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 budget includes a decision to expand the scope of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). According to government documents, the number of eligible families will increase from 10 million to 10.2 million, providing financial assistance to more families.
Officials have stated that the coverage of the BISP Kafalat Programme is being expanded, and the skills programme will also be extended. Additionally, a learning programme will be included to accelerate the programme’s implementation.
The budget documents indicate that under the Prime Minister’s Employment Scheme, 36,676 households will receive assistance, and plans are in place to teach various skills to 51,185 individuals.
