Iran closes Strait of Hormuz amid US clashes

Tehran (Lord Media): Following US attacks and military skirmishes, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz to all maritime traffic. The Iranian Joint Military Command announced that any vessel attempting to pass through the strait will be targeted.

According to the Iranian statement, the closure order includes oil tankers and commercial ships. Iranian media reported that two ships in Hormuz were targeted for violating the ban.

After fresh US attacks on Iran, clashes erupted between US forces and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian armed forces targeted US naval ships near the strait, launching missile and drone attacks.

Iranian media reported explosions were heard in Fars, western Tehran, Bandar Abbas, Mina B, Sirik, Qeshm, Hengam, and Kish Island. The US Central Command stated that additional defensive strikes were launched on multiple targets in Iran in response to Iran’s unwarranted aggression.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that if aggression is pursued, Iran will not retreat, dismissing any such aspirations as mere dreams.
