Islamabad (Lord Media): Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah has indicated a potential shift in the current number game for forming the government in Gilgit-Baltistan. Speaking on Geo News’ program Capital Talk, he stated that the final numbers will be revealed on June 15, and they may secure an additional 2 or 3 seats.
Rana Sanaullah further mentioned that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has not contacted them. Meanwhile, PPP’s Nadeem Afzal Chan expressed confidence in securing the required 3 seats.
PTI’s Shahram Tarakai stated that it would be better for their party to remain in opposition. A simple majority of 17 seats is needed to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan, and negotiations are ongoing post-elections.
The PPP currently leads with 10 seats, while independent candidates have 7 and PML-N has 6 seats. The PPP is likely to form a government without PML-N and is considering including independent members.
Final results are awaited after re-polling in 26 polling stations across five constituencies on June 15. Ishaq Dar congratulated Bilawal Bhutto on the success, and both leaders agreed to collaborate on Gilgit affairs.
According to sources, the Chief Minister in Gilgit-Baltistan will be from the PPP, while the Governor might be from PML-N.
