Islamabad (Lord Media): Defense Minister Khawaja Asif emphasized the need for resolving the ongoing protests in Azad Kashmir through dialogue, asserting that the Kashmir issue will not be weakened. Addressing the National Assembly, he mentioned that even non-political members of Nawaz Sharif’s family were imprisoned, yet the system was not jeopardized. He criticized PTI for not participating in national issues or legislation.
Asif stated that if any party or individual disrespects the House, it will harm everyone. He urged for protests without disrupting parliamentary proceedings. The Defense Minister highlighted that over 220,000 Kashmiri refugees have been martyred while crossing the border, and Pakistan has made sacrifices for Azad Kashmir.
He further noted that 250 million Pakistanis have a stake in the Kashmir issue, which should be resolved through dialogue. Khawaja Asif stressed that the law should not be taken into one’s own hands and that Pakistan is committed to safeguarding the autonomy of Azad Kashmir.
