Maldives (Lord Media): Pakistan made history by winning an international football tournament after 64 years. Pakistan defeated Afghanistan 2-0 in the final of the Diamond Jubilee Football Tournament held at the Maldives National Football Stadium. This was the first time since 1962 that the Pakistani team reached the final of an independent international tournament and emerged victorious.
Prime Minister Sharif congratulated the players, coaches, and management on this historic achievement. He stated that the victory against Afghanistan is a source of joy and pride for the entire nation and expressed hope that the talented players will continue their success in the future.
