Pakistan left-arm spinner Noman Ali has surpassed former cricketers Saqlain Mushtaq and Danish Kaneria by becoming the third-fastest Pakistani spinner to complete 100 wickets in Test cricket.
The milestone was achieved during the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh national cricket team, where Noman claimed three wickets to complete his century of Test scalps.
The left-arm spinner reached the landmark in his 22nd Test match, moving ahead of Saqlain Mushtaq and Danish Kaneria, both of whom had completed 100 Test wickets in 23 matches.
Noman Ali has also become the oldest bowler to reach 100 wickets in Test cricket.
Former leg-spinner Yasir Shah still holds the record for the fastest Pakistani bowler to complete 100 Test wickets, having achieved the feat in just 17 matches.
Former off-spinner Saeed Ajmal occupies the second spot on the list after reaching the milestone in 19 Test matches.
With his latest achievement, Noman Ali has further strengthened his reputation as one of Pakistan’s most effective red-ball bowlers in recent years.
