Federal Interior Minister and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shammi Obaid Islam in Islamabad, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and Pakistan’s diplomatic role.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on enhancing cooperation in trade, business, and cultural sectors. Both countries also agreed to increase delegation-level exchanges to strengthen ties further.
The Bangladeshi state minister appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts in facilitating dialogue and easing tensions between Iran and the United States.
The two sides also discussed a possible visit by Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister to Pakistan in the near future.
Mohsin Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential, stating that the country offers wide-ranging opportunities for foreign investors, particularly in economic and commercial sectors.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Director General South Asia Ishrat Jahan, Director Shamina Yasmin, and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider.
