Bushra Ansari, a veteran of Pakistan’s entertainment industry with a career spanning over four decades, has strongly reacted to controversial remarks made by fellow actor Firdous Jamal, saying no one has the right to demean other artists.
In a recent vlog, Bushra Ansari expressed disappointment over Firdous Jamal’s statements, while maintaining respect for him as a senior colleague. “I respect him a lot, but no one has the right to speak ill of fellow artists,” she said.
She noted that actors in the showbiz industry are rarely weak in their craft, adding that such negative remarks are unnecessary and damaging. Bushra Ansari further urged Firdous Jamal to be mindful of his mindset and tone, cautioning that persistent negativity can affect not only others but also his own family.
The controversy emerged after Firdous Jamal, during a podcast, made critical comments about late legendary actors including Talat Hussain, Shafi Muhammad, Rahat Kazmi and Khayyam Sarhadi. He also criticised the acting abilities of late star Abid Ali, claiming that none of them knew how to act.
His remarks sparked widespread backlash on social media as well as within showbiz circles, particularly because the artists he criticised are no longer alive to respond.
