Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi have been cleared of any involvement in a 2022 drug case after Mumbai Police found no evidence linking them to the alleged narcotics network.
According to police officials, investigations conducted by the Crime Branch and Anti-Narcotics Cell concluded that neither of the two actors, nor other named personalities, had any proven connection with drug supply or consumption.
“The inquiry has found no evidence of involvement of any celebrity in the case,” officials said, confirming that both Kapoor and Fatehi have effectively been given a clean chit.
The case surfaced in August 2022 following the arrest of an alleged drug dealer, Salim Sohail Sheikh, by Mumbai Police. During the operation, authorities claimed to have recovered mephedrone worth approximately Rs119,000 from his possession.
The suspect had reportedly alleged that he supplied narcotics to individuals attending various events, prompting investigators to question several personalities from the entertainment industry.
In 2025, the Anti-Narcotics Cell expanded the probe and recorded statements from multiple individuals, including Kapoor and Fatehi. However, investigators said no concrete evidence emerged to substantiate claims of drug distribution or use involving them.
Police said an initial charge sheet has already been filed against three accused persons, while a supplementary charge sheet will be submitted against two more arrested suspects and one absconder.
