Pakistan records 29.15 percent increase in mobile phone imports

Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs 406.38 billion mobile phone imports during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, reflecting a significant rise in import volumes, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Official figures show that mobile phone imports increased by 29.15 percent during July 2025 to March 2026 compared to the same period last year.

The data indicates that imports stood at Rs 314.65 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, highlighting a sharp year-on-year increase in demand.

In March 2026 alone, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs 41.70 billion, compared to Rs 36.49 billion in March 2025, reflecting a 14.28 percent annual increase.

However, on a month-to-month basis, imports in March 2026 declined by 4.26 percent compared to February 2026, when the import volume stood at Rs 43.56 billion.

The figures suggest fluctuating monthly trends despite an overall upward trajectory in mobile phone imports during the fiscal year.
