The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, with Shan Masood set to continue as captain.
According to details, four new players have been included in the squad, while five members are already participating in the ongoing red-ball camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
The national Test squad will assemble in Karachi on April 27 for a preparatory camp, which will continue until May 1. The team is scheduled to depart for Bangladesh on May 2.
Players currently involved in the Pakistan Super League Season 11 will join the camp after completing their respective franchise commitments.
In a significant development, former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as head coach for the Bangladesh tour. Former Test cricketers Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul will serve as batting and bowling coaches, respectively.
The squad includes: Shan Masood (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Imad Butt, Azan Awais, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin on May 8, with the second Test scheduled to start from May 16.
