Pakistan women fall to Ivory Coast in FIFA Series clash

Pakistan women’s football team suffered a 2-0 defeat against Ivory Coast women’s national football team in their second match of the FIFA Series, played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium.

Despite the defeat, the national side put up a disciplined performance and limited the hosts’ scoring opportunities for long spells. However, a lack of international experience and missed chances in the attacking third ultimately cost Pakistan the match.

In an official statement, the Pakistan Football Federation said the team’s performance had been encouraging despite the result, adding that it reflected growing progress in women’s football in the country.

Players including Kyla Siddiqui, Isra Khan and Ziyah Jeevaraj were praised for their standout contributions on the field.

Earlier in the series, Pakistan registered a record 8-0 win over Turks and Caicos Islands women’s national football team, while also facing a narrow 1-0 defeat against Mauritania women’s national football team in another fixture.

The FIFA Series continues to provide valuable international exposure for the Pakistan side as it builds experience on the global stage.
