Major changes expected in Pakistan Test squad for Bangladesh tour

Significant changes are expected in the national Test squad for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh, with selectors currently finalising names ahead of an official announcement next week.

According to sources, the selected players’ camp is likely to begin in Karachi from April 29, where preparations for the series will be intensified.

Officials said consultations among selectors have already begun, with three to four changes expected in the squad that played the series against South Africa last year.

There are also indications of possible changes in team management, with former cricketer Sarfraz Ahmed likely to replace Azhar Mahmood as head coach. Sources added that Sarfraz Ahmed’s input is expected to be included in the selection process.

Wicketkeeper Rohail Nazir is also under consideration and may be given an opportunity in the squad.

It is worth mentioning that the Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to be played on May 8 and May 16.
