Following sustained and active diplomatic efforts by Pakistan, the move towards a temporary ceasefire and the subsequent decision by both sides to come to the negotiating table has drawn global attention to Islamabad.

It is pertinent to mention that the Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad late Friday night for talks with the United States. The delegation includes Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, along with other senior officials.
Subsequently, a high-level U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance also reached Islamabad on Saturday morning. The delegation includes Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Both delegations were received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, reflecting a positive and welcoming start to the dialogue process.
On the occasion, the deputy prime minister appreciated the commitment shown by the visiting delegations toward promoting global and regional peace.
