FIFA has released its latest world rankings, with France national football team reclaiming the top position for the first time since 2018.
In the updated standings, Spain national football team moved up to second place, while Argentina national football team slipped to third. Portugal national football team climbed one spot to fifth, whereas Brazil national football team dropped to sixth position.
Among the notable movers in the top 50 were Turkey national football team, Ivory Coast national football team, Sweden national football team and Tunisia national football team, all showing significant improvement. Vietnam national football team recorded the biggest jump, climbing nine places in the rankings, while Nepal national football team and Bhutan national football team also improved their positions.
Of the 48 teams set to feature in the FIFA World Cup 2026, 37 are currently ranked within the top 50. However, Italy national football team, Denmark national football team and Nigeria national football team, despite being in the top 30, have failed to qualify.
Meanwhile, Pakistan national football team dropped to 202nd position after suffering a defeat against Myanmar national football team.
