Lahore Qalandars batter Fakhar Zaman has filed an appeal against a two-match suspension imposed on him during the ongoing Pakistan Super League season 11.
The suspension was handed down by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) a day earlier after the left-hander was found guilty of ball tampering, constituting a Level 3 breach of the code of conduct.
According to the PCB, Fakhar violated the relevant article related to altering the condition of the ball, resulting in a two-match ban.
Sources said the cricketer has now approached the PSL technical committee, challenging the decision and seeking a review of the penalty.
The incident was reported during a match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, after which match referee Roshan Mahanama conducted a hearing and announced the verdict.
