China has expressed deep regret over the damage caused to Iran’s cultural relics and historical sites amid the ongoing conflict, while calling on all parties to immediately halt military operations.
According to Mao Ning, the remarks were made during a regular press briefing in response to media queries regarding the impact of the war on cultural heritage.
She stressed that world cultural heritage is a shared treasure of humanity and should be protected, urging all involved parties, particularly the United States and Israel, to cease military actions without delay.
The spokesperson further called for the initiation of dialogue and negotiations at the earliest possible stage, emphasizing the need to bring an end to a conflict that, she said, should never have occurred.
China reiterated its position in favor of diplomatic engagement as the only viable path toward restoring peace and stability in the region.
