Beijing says attacks on civilians and leaders are unacceptable

China has stated that the killing of Iranian leaders and attacks on civilian targets are “by no means acceptable,” reaffirming its opposition to the use of force in international relations.

According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks during a daily press briefing on Thursday while responding to a related media query.

Lin said China consistently opposes the use of force in international affairs and stressed that such actions violate basic norms governing international relations.

The statement came in response to reports regarding Iranian official Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, who was said to have been killed in an Israeli attack.

China did not independently verify the report but reiterated its position that attacks targeting leaders and civilians are unacceptable under any circumstances.

Beijing called for restraint and adherence to international law, underscoring the need to avoid further escalation in already volatile regional tensions.
