China has expressed deep condolences over the deaths of students in the recent attack on an Iranian elementary school and extended heartfelt sympathies to their families, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday.
Guo added that the Red Cross Society of China will provide the Iranian Red Crescent Society with 200,000 U.S. dollars in emergency humanitarian assistance.
The spokesperson condemned all indiscriminate attacks against civilians and non-military targets, emphasizing that targeting schools and harming children violates international humanitarian law and crosses the bottom line of human morality and conscience.
“China is willing to continue to offer necessary support to Iran in the spirit of humanitarianism to help the Iranian people overcome the difficulties,” Guo said.
