Pakistan crush Malaysia by 297 runs in U19 Asia Cup opener

Pakistan launched their U19 Asia Cup campaign with a commanding victory, defeating Malaysia by 297 runs in a one-sided Group A match in Dubai.

Chasing a daunting target of 346, the Malaysian batting lineup crumbled for just 48 runs, with no player reaching double figures. Captain Diaz Petro and Muhammad Akram top-scored with 9 runs each.

For Pakistan, Ali Raza and Muhammad Siyam led the bowling attack with three wickets each, while Daniyal Ali Khan claimed two and Naqab Shafiq took one.

Earlier, Malaysia won the toss and opted to bowl. Pakistan recovered from the early loss of two wickets as Samir Minhas and Ahmed Hussain built a remarkable 293-run partnership for the third wicket.

Pakistan posted 345 for 3 in their 50 overs.

Samir Minhas was the star of the innings, scoring an unbeaten 177, featuring 8 sixes and 11 fours. Ahmed Hussain contributed a superb 132, while Usman Khan fell for 1 and Ali Hasan Baloch made 14. Captain Farhan Yousaf remained not out on 8.

Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on December 14 in their next group match.
