ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): President Asif Ali Zardari has approved three important government summaries on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, including the conferment of the prestigious Hilal-e-Pakistan award on Miguel Angel Moratinos, the United Nations Secretary-General’s High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations and Special Envoy on Combating Islamophobia.
The approval is part of Pakistan’s recognition of international efforts aimed at promoting interfaith harmony, tolerance, and countering Islamophobia at the global level.
In another decision, President Zardari accepted the resignation of Fazal Haq Abbasi, who was serving as a member of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan. The resignation was approved following the completion of necessary official procedures.
Meanwhile, Zafar Hassan has been appointed as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). The appointment is expected to strengthen the commission’s role in overseeing recruitment and selection processes for federal services.
The decisions were taken after the summaries were forwarded to the President by the Prime Minister for approval.
