ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Senator Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, met with Tom Fletcher, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. The meeting focused on humanitarian aid activities, regional peace, and mutual cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar praised the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) for its role in providing humanitarian aid and assisting crisis-affected individuals. He highlighted OCHA’s commendable services during climate disasters in Pakistan and affirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the organization’s humanitarian efforts.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and reiterated support for OCHA’s efforts to provide aid to the affected population. He stated that Pakistan has always been a proponent of humanitarian initiatives globally.
UN Under-Secretary-General Tom Fletcher appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in promoting peace, stability, and humanitarian cooperation in the region. He acknowledged Pakistan’s commendable contributions to global humanitarian aid activities, which are recognized by the international community.
