KARACHI (Lord Media): Sindh police officers must now obtain prior approval from the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh before engaging in media briefings or interviews. This directive has been issued by the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Operations under the IG’s orders.
The directive clearly states that no police officer can appear on media platforms without the IG’s prior consent. This includes participation in TV, radio, podcasts, and press conferences, all of which require prior approval.
Participation in digital media and other public forums in an official capacity will also be subject to prior approval, and officers granted permission must limit their discussions to the approved agenda.
The directive prohibits the disclosure of sensitive information related to ongoing investigations, intelligence, and operational matters.
All supervising officers have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these guidelines, with departmental action indicated for any violations.
