TEL AVIV (Lord Media): An Israeli military court has sentenced a soldier to five years in prison for espionage on behalf of Iran. According to officials, the soldier was found guilty of conducting espionage activities favoring Iran during the conflict between Iran and Israel in June 2025.
A statement from the Israeli military indicated that the soldier was punished for carrying out various espionage tasks assigned by Iran. The investigation was jointly conducted by the Israeli military police, Israeli police, and the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet, leading to the soldier’s conviction by the military court.
The military has not disclosed the identity of the convicted soldier or the full details of the alleged espionage missions. However, authorities stated that these actions were considered a threat to national security. Israeli officials emphasized that transmitting sensitive information to an enemy nation during wartime is a grave offense, resulting in the five-year prison sentence.
Meanwhile, Iran has not issued an official response to the matter. Analysts suggest that the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel has led to an increase in espionage and counter-espionage activities, impacting the security situation in the region.
