FOSPAH fines official Rs500,000 over harassment case

ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The Federal Ombudsman for Anti-Harassment has imposed a fine of 500,000 rupees on a government official accused of repeatedly likening a female colleague to a transgender person due to her inability to have children.

According to a FOSPAH spokesperson, the official posted derogatory messages online against the complainant, targeting her personal matter of not having children and using demeaning language.

The decision stated that the accused consciously used gender-based derogatory terms as a weapon. By using terms associated with transgender identity as insults, he perpetuated harmful stereotypes.

FOSPAH further noted that this behavior reflects discriminatory attitudes against vulnerable segments of society, which have no place in a professional environment.
