ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has stated that this year will mark economic growth and the promotion of business activities in Pakistan. He made these remarks during a review meeting on FBR reforms, where improvements in the tax system were discussed.
The Prime Minister described the business community as the backbone of the economy and assured them of facilities to enhance productivity and boost exports. The meeting directed the FBR to fully cooperate with the business sector.
The Prime Minister instructed FBR officials to visit Karachi monthly to assess the issues faced by the business community. Companies complying with tax laws will be recognized and encouraged.
FBR officials reported that the production monitoring system has been successfully installed in the sugar, cement, tobacco, tiles, and fertilizers industries, resulting in additional tax collection.
Federal ministers, the State Bank governor, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
