ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a 10-member gang in Islamabad for impersonating relatives of overseas Pakistanis and committing fraud. The suspects used advanced masking software and foreign WhatsApp numbers to deceive citizens.
According to the NCCIA spokesperson, the gang tricked citizens into transferring millions of rupees to various bank accounts by fabricating emergency situations and visa issues.
The NCCIA conducted a raid in Islamabad’s Soan Garden area, arresting 10 suspects, including Mohsin, Adil, and Mashooq. Authorities seized 10 mobile phones, sensitive bank data, fake transaction slips, and crucial digital evidence.
Director Muhammad Ali Waseem stated that a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace other accomplices and the money trail of the network.
