Protest over Ziarat tragedy enters sixth day

QUETTA (Lord Media): The sit-in by the families of police officers martyred in the Ziarat tragedy continued for the sixth consecutive day. Talks between the government negotiation committee and the protestors ended without progress yesterday. The government delegation, including Interior Minister Ziaullah Langove and Health Minister Bakht Kakar, continued discussions with the families late into the night.

According to the government negotiation committee, the delegation informed the families about the progress on their demands, including the formation of a judicial commission on the Ziarat incident. The committee stated that the Balochistan government is ready to accept all legitimate demands of the families and provide full cooperation.

Meanwhile, the protestors and All Parties have announced demonstrations across the province on July 15. Additionally, women and children will join the sit-in on July 16, while a shutter-down strike will be observed across Balochistan on July 17.

The government negotiation committee has appealed to the families of the Ziarat tragedy and the All Parties sit-in committee to end the protest and proceed with the burial of the seven martyrs, though discussions are ongoing.
