Araghchi Reacts Strongly to US Maritime Blockade on Iran

WASHINGTON (Lord Media): The United States has announced a maritime blockade against Iran, which will encompass Iranian ports, oil terminals, and coastal areas. According to the Joint Maritime Information Center led by the U.S. Navy, this blockade will be enforced from July 14 at 8 PM.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi responded to the U.S. move by stating that Iran has always been the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz and will continue to play its role. He criticized the U.S. President’s proposal to charge a 20% fee on cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz as excessive, asserting that Iran will charge a reasonable fee.

The United Nations has opposed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 20% fee on the Strait of Hormuz. A spokesperson for the UN shipping agency stated that there is no legal basis for imposing fees on international maritime routes, which should remain free and unobstructed.
