Iran attacks tankers, one dead in Gulf

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (Lord Media): The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense announced that Iran attacked two oil tankers in the Persian Gulf.

The tankers, Mombasa and Bahia, were targeted by Iranian cruise missiles in the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, within Oman’s territorial waters. The attack resulted in the death of one crew member of the Mombasa, an Indian national, while eight others were injured, with four in critical condition.

Among the injured, six are from India and two from Ukraine. The UAE Ministry of Defense labeled it an ‘open attack,’ stating it is a grave violation of international law and poses a threat to regional peace and stability.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps later confirmed the attacks, claiming the tankers ignored Iran’s warnings and attempted to navigate through a mine-laden route with their navigation systems turned off.
