Dollar rises in open market, falls in interbank

KARACHI (Lord Media): The U.S. dollar’s value continued to rise for the third consecutive day in the open market, while a slight decrease was observed in the interbank market. According to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), the dollar’s price in the open market increased by 12 paisas, reaching 279 rupees and 64 paisas. Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan reported a 3 paisas decrease in the interbank market, closing at 278 rupees and 2 paisas.

Experts attribute the rise in the open market to increased demand for the dollar.
