TANK (Lord Media): A blast targeting a police armored vehicle on Jandola Wana Road resulted in the deaths of two police officers, including an ASI, and injured two others. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Shaheed Mureed Akbar police station. According to police, the IED explosion took place near Garah Hayat when the vehicle was on a routine patrol.
Following the attack, police issued a high alert across the district and launched a search operation. Officials suspect the explosive device was a remote-controlled IED. The deceased have been identified as ASI Fareedullah and Constable Akhtar Zaman, while the injured officers, Qudratullah and Abdul Malik, have been transferred to DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the attack and requested a report from senior officials. He described the fallen officers as national heroes and expressed condolences to their families and colleagues. The governor also instructed that the injured receive all necessary medical assistance.
