LUXEMBOURG (Lord Media): A Muslim teacher, Fatima Kartic, has been dismissed from her job in Luxembourg for supporting Palestine and criticizing the Israeli government on social media. Fatima has appealed the decision in court.
Fatima Kartic, a survivor of the Bosnian genocide, expressed concern on social media over the deaths of children in Gaza and Israeli actions. She claims she was terminated without prior warning, which she argues violates her fundamental right to freedom of expression.
Luxembourg’s Ministry of National Education deemed some of Fatima’s social media posts as anti-Semitic, leading to action against her. Fatima has rejected this accusation, stating that her posts were criticisms of Israeli government policies, not against any religion or nation.
Fatima also revealed that she has been active on Instagram in support of Palestine and had called for a boycott of a Luxembourg-based company. She stated that as a victim of the Bosnian genocide, she deeply understands the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The incident has sparked a new debate in Luxembourg regarding freedom of expression, support for Palestine, and social media activism.
