LAHORE (Lord Media): Kashmiris across Pakistan and worldwide are observing Kashmir Martyrs’ Day today, commemorating the 22 Kashmiris killed by Dogra forces on July 13, 1931. This event marked the beginning of their struggle against Indian occupation.
In the past three decades, over 96,000 Kashmiris have been martyred, and more than 200,000 children have been orphaned. Thousands remain imprisoned in India’s notorious jails.
July 1931 is a significant milestone in the Kashmir freedom movement, when 22 Kashmiris were martyred during the trial of Abdul Qadeer. This sacrifice is considered the foundation of Kashmir’s liberation.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, stated that Kashmiris observe this day annually as Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, continuing their struggle against Indian occupation.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Manzoor Ahmed Shah remarked that India has turned Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of oppression, with thousands martyred and imprisoned over the past three decades.
