BRISTOL (Lord Media): England handed India a crushing defeat in the T20 series, winning the fourth match by 9 wickets and securing an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. This marks England’s first T20 series victory against India.
India, after winning the toss, opted to bat first but managed only 158 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 80 runs off 49 balls, while England’s Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue claimed two wickets each.
In pursuit of the target, England’s openers displayed remarkable batting. Phil Salt and captain Harry Brook forged an unbeaten 146-run partnership for the second wicket. Harry Brook played a brilliant innings of 79 not out off 35 balls, while Phil Salt remained unbeaten on 59 from 42 balls.
England achieved the target in 13.5 overs with the loss of just one wicket. The Indian bowling attack was unable to counter England’s aggressive style. Harry Brook was named the player of the match for his all-round performance.
The fifth and final T20 match of the series will be played on Saturday, where England will aim for a clean sweep.
