BAHAWALPUR (Lord Media): A lioness named Morni at Bahawalpur’s Sher Bagh Zoo has died under mysterious circumstances. Zoo officials reported that the lioness was healthy but suddenly collapsed and died.
Experts suggest that the sudden death of the lioness might have been caused by a heart attack due to heat stroke. According to zoo sources, the lioness was perfectly healthy until 11 a.m. when she suddenly fell and died. A veterinary doctor examined and declared the lioness dead.
After a post-mortem, the lioness was buried within the zoo premises. Experts have indicated possible inadequate measures in the lion enclosures. Following Morni’s death, the total number of lions in the zoo has decreased to eighteen.
