BERLIN (Lord Media): The United States has approved the sale of advanced Tomahawk cruise missiles and their ground-based Typhoon launchers to Germany, marking a significant development in defense cooperation between the two nations. The German Chancellor announced during the NATO summit that fruitful meetings in Ankara led to an agreement for Germany to purchase and deploy U.S. Tomahawk missiles on its soil.
The German Chancellor stated that this move aims to fill a critical strategic gap in Germany’s defense capabilities. He added that Europe continues to work on developing its defense systems and deploying advanced defense capabilities in the region.
According to reports, the U.S. government assured Germany through a letter of intent signed on Tuesday that the formal approval for the sale of Tomahawk missiles and Typhoon launchers would be granted by August.
However, German officials have not disclosed the number of Tomahawk missiles or Typhoon launchers Germany intends to purchase. Government sources indicate that this information is kept confidential due to defense sensitivities.
