DHAKA (Lord Media): Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina Wajed, who fled to India following her ousting, has announced plans to return to her homeland in December. In an interview with a British news agency, she revealed that both she and other leaders of her party are planning a voluntary return.
Sheikh Hasina expressed concerns about the possibility of being arrested or killed upon her return to Bangladesh. She stated that if death is inevitable, she wishes it to occur on her own soil.
She has indicated her intention to surrender to the court upon her return, noting that there has been no contact with Dhaka since her exile.
Sheikh Hasina further mentioned that her party’s leaders and workers are facing intense pressure and oppression.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Bangladeshi government has refrained from commenting on Sheikh Hasina Wajed’s statement.
