ISLAMABAD: Israel’s military has said it remains on high alert and is prepared to join the United States in military action against Iran if directed by the government.
According to media reports, an Israeli military spokesperson said preparations had been underway since the first day of the ceasefire, as Israel did not trust Iranian commitments and viewed them as tactical moves.
The spokesperson alleged that Iran’s leadership was acting without proper calculations and was behaving as if it had already won the war, while attempting to pressure the United States.
He said Israel had expected US President Donald Trump’s patience with Iran to run out and added that the Israeli military was maintaining close coordination with the US Central Command.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in the region, with concerns growing over a possible expansion of military confrontation between Iran, the United States and its allies.
