TOKYO (Lord Media): In a shocking incident in Japan, police have arrested a woman accused of sewing her housemate’s lips shut with a needle and thread. The victim managed to escape the house and sought help from passersby.
According to police, the 42-year-old victim fled her residence in Koga city and reached a nearby shop where she wrote ‘Please help me’ on a piece of paper to attract attention. Police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated action.
Following investigations, police in Ibaraki Prefecture, Eastern Japan, detained 49-year-old Masayo Sakurai on suspicion of the assault. Authorities stated that the suspect and the victim were living together in the same house where the alleged incident took place.
Police officials are examining all aspects of the case, including whether any third party was present at the residence.
According to Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, the victim told police that the suspect became enraged during a dispute and sewed her lips shut. Police have launched an investigation, and questioning of the suspect is ongoing.
