MOSCOW (Lord Media): Russia has imposed a ban on diesel exports following recent Ukrainian attacks that damaged oil refineries, leading to fuel shortages and price hikes in the local market.
Drivers across various regions of Russia are facing long queues for fuel as the supply of diesel and petrol has been disrupted by the Ukrainian attacks.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak informed President Vladimir Putin that the current situation is causing public concern. He stated that the ban on diesel exports would increase supply in the local market.
Alexander Novak further mentioned that Russia will begin importing fuel in July, and the ban could remain in place until July 31.
It is also noted that Russia has recently started importing petrol from India by sea.
