Pakistan urges Washington to reduce 19% export tariff

WASHINGTON (Lord Media): Trade negotiations between Pakistan and the United States are underway in Washington, where Pakistan has requested a reduction in the 19 percent tariff on its exports. Detailed discussions are taking place to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, IT, and other sectors.

According to sources, the Pakistani delegation is led by Commerce Secretary Jawad Paul, accompanied by other senior officials. Relevant officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce are also participating in the talks.

The Pakistani delegation has urged for a reduction in the 19 percent tariff on Pakistani exports to improve access to the U.S. market and boost exports.
